The first-ever December Fest is on the cards from 1 to 5 December on the open grounds in front of Marigold Hotel, and will be hosted by Namibian international model Meriam Kaxuxwena.
Hans Namutewa, the co-founder of the festival, told VIBEZ! that it is intended to encourage everyone to appreciate this difficult year of the Covid-19 pandemic and end it on a positive note, while also giving hope for a better year ahead.
He explained that the event takes a social and entrepreneurial approach to unity and harmony by uniting people and providing them with an amazing opportunity to reflect on this year by celebrating music, food, culture and general arts.
“We will also provide the youth and general public with the opportunity to have stalls to sell beverages and food to event attendees. SMEs will showcase their products and services, while festivalgoers can enjoy various activities and entertainment,” Namutewa said, while promising something for everyone.
“We will have 10 music performances per day. From the first to the last day, there will be a kiddies’ corner with various children’s games, activities and competitions.”
Live music performances by well-known musicians such as Exit as well as DJs will keep guests on their feet.
Namutewa said they plan for the December Fest to be held annually, and spread to other towns across the country.
