We are finalising payment – Traut

Secretary general of the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Jochen Traut has said they are in the process of finalising payments to the national women’s football team technical staff members who have not yet been paid.

Brave Gladiators players, who gathered for the umpteenth time at Football House earlier this month, pleading for payment due to them for close to three years, have since been paid.

Last week, news broke that the technical staff members were also not paid their monies owed to them.

Speaking to this publication yesterday, Traut confirmed that staff members of the women’s team were indeed not paid, but said they have commenced compensation.

“We are now in the process to pay everyone. I don’t know how long the process will take but we have begun, and we are doing it individually. People are being called in to work on the process but we are surely on course, working on it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Woody Jacobs, who was in charge of the team, has also not been paid yet.

“I am owed monies from the time we played Cosafa and the qualifiers against Zambia and Tanzania. I just hope they will sort me out, as I too am in need of the funds. But they are yet to get hold of me,” said Jacobs.
